Thanksgiving - 2008
Thanksgiving 2008 at Village focused on the passage Joshua 4: 1-7,
which describes the collection of stones that the Israelites picked up
while crossing the Jordan. The monument they made was a memorial
to God's help. During the Thanksgiving service, Villagers also
piled up stones, using each stone as a reminder of something we can be
thankful for. Here are two photos of the rock monument. In the
background can be seen a collection of food donated by Villagers for
the local community pantry.
Right at the end of the service, sunlight shining through the Village
stained glass window cast a rainbow on the rock monument.
