requests are for both basic literacy and English as a second language
Literacy Council matches volunteer and client and helps them arrange a meeting place
training is a 15 hour workshop; cost is $25
ESL volunteers have manuals that enable effective teaching

volunteers needed to: sit, give a break to primary caregivers, do errands, provide transportation,   pick up prescriptions, etc. for sick clients
bereavement care for survivors includes visiting, telephoning
office volunteers also needed
training is 20 hours, specialized for home care or bereavement care
